This page covers CovaLea — the marketing site at covalea.com and the mobile app. CovaLea is a real‑time coaching tool: it captures audio from your microphone, turns it into text, and uses AI to suggest coaching responses for parents and caregivers.

What we collect

  • Account info — your email address and a hashed password (Pro only).
  • Audio — short rolling audio buffers captured during a session. By default, audio is processed on your phone and is not retained on our server.
  • Transcripts — text generated from your audio, including timestamps and speaker labels.
  • Coaching responses — the AI's replies to your prompts.
  • Memories and notes — anything you choose to save.
  • Speaker voice profiles — numeric voice fingerprints used to recognize specific speakers across sessions.
  • Account telemetry — rate‑limit counters and AI usage totals, server‑side.

Children's voices may be present in audio you record. Treat that data the same way you treat your child's other personal information.

Third parties we use

  • OpenAI — for the coaching responses themselves. Our server holds the API key; transcripts and prompts you submit are sent to OpenAI for processing. See openai.com/policies.
  • AssemblyAI (optional) — for a one‑off transcript cleanup after a session, if you choose to use it. Audio you upgrade is uploaded, then deleted after processing. See assemblyai.com/legal.

We do not sell personal information.

How long we keep it

  • Account record: until you delete your account.
  • Transcripts, responses, memories, voice profiles: until you delete them or your account.
  • Raw audio uploaded to the server (when enabled): 30 days, then automatically deleted unless you've configured a different retention.
  • Server logs (rate limits, AI usage counts): for the lifetime of your account.

Your rights

  • Access — email support@covalea.app to receive a copy of the data tied to your account.
  • Correct — edit transcripts, speaker labels, and memories directly in the app.
  • Delete — Settings → Account → Delete my account and all data. Removes every server row tied to your account.

Children

CovaLea is not designed for children to use. It's for parents, guardians, and caregivers who may record conversations involving their children. Adults using CovaLea are responsible for confirming they have the legal authority to record the voices captured.
