A wise friend on the side, for the noisy parts of parenting.

Covalea is an AI coaching companion that listens in the moment, helps you find your words, and quietly remembers what mattered — all on your terms, all in your pocket.

"It's not fair, you never let me—"

"That sounds really frustrating. Tell me more about what feels unfair."

"Because last week you said I could—"

She's recalling Tuesday's promise. Acknowledge it first.

Listening

The why

Parenting books are written for the calm of an evening. The hard moments happen at 7:42 a.m., with a backpack still missing.

Covalea is built for moments like these.

"It's 7:42 a.m. and the backpack is missing. The bus is six minutes away."

"She's recalling a promise from Tuesday — and you have no idea which one."

"He just walked out of the room. You don't know if it was something you said or something else entirely."

The reality

Parenting today is not what the books were written for.

Real numbers from primary sources. Each one is a hard moment that happens — often, to a lot of households.

6.0%

U.S. adults with current ADHD

15.5 million; about half diagnosed in adulthood.

CDC NCHS 2023

1 in 8

U.S. mothers with postpartum depression

CDC PRAMS: 13.2% prevalence across 31 sites.

The implication: many parents are doing this work tired, anxious, or differently wired — and reaching for help in moments that don't wait for an appointment. That's the gap Covalea aims to close.

What Covalea does

Designed for the moment, and for the long arc.

Ask for help mid‑conversation

Trigger Covalea with a tap, a wake phrase, or a quick earbud press. It hears the moment and offers what to try next.

A private second brain

Sessions and key moments are saved to a searchable history only you can see — to revisit, ask questions of, or share with a co‑parent.

Memories that travel forward

Save the things that matter — what worked, what didn't, who said what — and have them quietly inform future coaching.

Follow‑ups, without breaking flow

Turn a coaching moment into a note, a reminder, a timer, or a calendar event with one tap. Or let the app suggest them.

Take‑Action alerts

Opt‑in proactive nudges when something in a live conversation looks like it's escalating — with one immediate step to try.

Voice in, voice out

Optional text‑to‑speech for responses, plus Bluetooth‑only and smart mic‑pause modes for the real‑world chaos.

How it works

Three small movements.

  1. 01

    Start a session

Tap to begin or use a wake phrase. The mic stays alive in the background — even with the phone in your pocket.

  2. 02

    Ask for help, your way

A tap, a phrase, or an earbud press triggers coaching tuned to the moment you're in.

  3. 03

    Remember what mattered

Save key moments as memories or follow‑ups; revisit any session by searching your private history later.

Why Covalea

Not just another chatbot you have to explain things to.

A general assistant is a great late‑night journal. It's not what helps in the moment. Covalea is shaped for parents specifically — and for moments that don't wait.

Lives in the moment

Capture is already running. No unlocking, no typing, no re‑explaining what just happened.

Remembers what worked

Saved sessions, durable memories, follow‑ups. Your "second brain" learns the rhythms of your family.

Privacy posture

Transcription stays on your device. Cloud sync is optional (Pro). Your sessions never train anyone's model.

Parenting‑specific

Prompts and behaviors are tuned for this work — not a general chatbot trying its best.

Grounded in research

Anchored in what already works.

Covalea isn't a new theory of parenting — it's a way to bring established practices into the moments they're hardest to remember.

Serve and return

Back‑and‑forth parent–child interaction is foundational to brain development. Covalea exists to help you keep "returning" in moments when it's easy to shut down.

Center on the Developing Child, Harvard

Emotion coaching

Parents who acknowledge, accept, and verbally label emotions raise kids with stronger self‑regulation. Covalea's in‑the‑moment suggestions are emotion‑coaching prompts.

Affective Science (2024), PMC

In‑the‑moment support

A 2025 study assessed parents' real‑time emotion dysregulation to inform the design of an in‑the‑moment parenting smartphone app — the category Covalea fits in.

Tiers

Two ways to use Covalea.

Pick the tier that fits how you want your data to live. Pro pricing will be announced near launch.

Free (Local)

All on your device.

Capture and coaching happen locally. Use the share feature to send a moment to your preferred LLM (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini). Nothing on our servers.

Pro

Hosted coaching, everywhere.

All of Free, plus hosted AI coaching (no LLM key needed), cross‑device sync, Take Action alerts, calendar follow‑ups, and voice TTS.

Privacy posture

Your conversations stay yours.

Live transcription happens on your device. Your "second brain" — sessions, memories, follow‑ups — is private to your account and never used to train anyone's model. You can export or delete everything, any time.

Roadmap

Android first. iOS and web on the way.

Covalea is being built Android‑first because that's where the always‑on session work lives best. iOS support and a web companion (sessions, search, ask‑AI from any browser) are on the roadmap.

FAQ

How is this different from just asking ChatGPT?
ChatGPT is a great late‑night journal. Covalea is shaped for moments that don't wait — capture is already running, the model knows the rhythm of your family, and memories carry forward. The Free tier lets you use ChatGPT (or any LLM) as your engine; Pro adds hosted coaching tuned to parenting specifically.
Is this really private? What can the company see?
Free tier: nothing. Sessions stay on your phone. Pro tier: only what you choose to sync, and it's private to your account. Live transcription runs on‑device either way. Your "second brain" is yours; we don't train models on it.
Will it work if I'm in the middle of a meltdown?
That's the point. A tap, a wake phrase, or an earbud press triggers coaching without unlocking the phone. The mic stays active in the background while you handle what's in front of you.
Do I need to be technical to use the Free tier?
No. The share feature uses your phone's normal share sheet — same as sending a photo. If you have ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini installed, Covalea will offer them.
What if my kid hears it talking?
Voice responses are off by default. You can turn them on with a Bluetooth‑only option, so only you (with earbuds in) hear the response. Otherwise everything is silent text you read.
When will it actually be available?
Active development. We're opening early access to a small group of parents and caregivers — join the waitlist and we'll be in touch when it's time.
